“Our members need to invest in their businesses and people,” says Simon Richards, Finance Director of beam, “and need help from the government to do so.
“Tax cuts and support would enable them to spend money on employees and facilities. A reduction in business rates from the Chancellor would be particularly valuable.
“We also would like control of apprenticeship funding to be given to the employer instead of the training provider as this would be a great help in developing apprentices.
“After the impact of the pandemic, there has been too much uncertainty to enable them to invest in developing their people and their businesses even though it is vital for the short and longer term future. They need to start soon and government support will give them the confidence.”
