The Exchange, part of the University of Birmingham located at Centenary Square, Birmingham is the latest member to join the Venues of Excellence family, joining the University of Birmingham and Edgbaston Park Conference Hotel who joined the consortium in 2019.
An iconic Birmingham landmark, The Exchange, which was once home to the Municipal Bank, is now, a hub for creativity, collaboration and celebrations, right in the heart of the city. From large-scale conferences and networking events to intimate drinks receptions and VIP dinners, guests can enjoy the unique period features of this historic building which overlooks Centenary Square and the contemporary Library of Birmingham.
Welcoming The Exchange into the Venues of Excellence portfolio, CEO, Mandy Jennings said: “It’s a delight to introduce The Exchange into membership. Venues of Excellence excels in promoting unique, independent venues and The Exchange is a perfect addition to our Birmingham collection of venues.”
Each prospective member completes an intensive audit from of the Venues of Excellence board to ensure the venue fulfils the consortiums’ criteria for membership. Matt Knight, Venue Manager at The Exchange when talking about why Venues of Excellence was their consortium membership of choice commented: “We have recently refurbished our Grade II listed building in the heart of Birmingham city centre, so we are really excited about our new partnership with VoE. VoE’s high standards will keep us sharp to ensure we continually deliver excellent event services at the top end of the sector”.
Venues of Excellence has over 40 venues in membership covering a geographic footprint from Scotland to the south coast of England. The consortium has seen a good uptake on their promotional 6-month membership offer welcoming new members and attended the CHS Birmingham Exhibition on Tuesday 26th October 2021, with six stand partners to meet with conference and event organisers.
