The Cross – the nightlife institution in York Way Goods Yard, King’s Cross between 1993 and 2007 – is back. Known across London for progressive house music, long-standing promoter residencies and well-dressed, beautiful people, The Cross has opened its doors again at last.
The Cross 2.0 comprises six floors offering luxuriously designed spaces to drink, dine and dance. True to its heritage, music is integral throughout the venue, from the rooftop terrace all the way down to the basement club where DJ line-ups are scheduled every weekend, as well as the 3 characterful bars and restaurant in between.
The six floors are deliciously eclectic in their design, ranging from exposed brick walls and reclaimed timber floors, to hand-painted ceilings and a room entirely dedicated to velvet.
The industrially elegant restaurant and dining terrace located on the first floor provide a menu of fresh, seasonal dishes, with highlights to include scallop ceviche with seasonal citrus and the glazed pork chop with salsa verde and charred apple puree. Small plates are also served in the second and third floor cocktail bars.
Billy Reilly, the original founder of The Cross, and his wife Gemma Reilly, managing director, are behind the re-opening, commenting: “The Cross holds a special place in our hearts, so we wanted to be involved in every step of reopening this beloved institution. From interiors, menus to the live music, this is still The Cross as we knew and loved it, but a renewed version, in keeping with modern times.”
