The Celtic Collection, a prestigious family of experience-focused UK business and leisure destinations, has launched the latest property in its portfolio, The Parkgate Hotel in Cardiff which will open its doors to business and leisure guests in October 2021.
Housed in original heritage buildings that once housed the city’s head post office and county court, the 170-bedroom Parkgate Hotel marries stylish innovation with the elegance of yesteryear in a city centre location next to Principality Stadium, the home of Welsh rugby.
As well as a luxurious restaurant, tea lounges and a rooftop spa, The Parkgate Hotel benefits from two event spaces, The Postmaster Suite and The Telegraph Room. Holding up to 432 delegates, The Postmaster Suite is suitable for hosting larger meetings and dinners and benefits from its own private pre-event bar area. The room can also be divided into smaller spaces.
The Telegraph Room is a private and elegant space perfect for intimate lunches, dinners and board meetings. The room, which is decorated with exposed brick and dark wood floors, can host up to 50 people and has an open view of the kitchen where guests can watch the chefs preparing their meal.
The launch of The Parkgate will further enhance Wales’s reputation as a major global business events destination, as well as add another stunning offering to The Celtic Collection’s array of meeting spaces.
The flagship Celtic Manor Resort hosted the 2014 NATO Summit and 2010 Ryder Cup and houses the 1,500-delegate Caernarfon Suite with 24 additional syndicate and meeting rooms, as well as three championship golf courses, luxury spas, a range of restaurants, and team building and family activities.
The Collection also includes further meeting facilities, restaurants and accommodations at the 19th century Manor House, the idyllic Newbridge on Usk country inn, and the stylish Coldra Court Hotel.
Jill Manley, Group Commercial Director for The Celtic Collection, said: “The Celtic Collection is renowned for its outstanding service, and we are delighted to extend this into Wales’s capital city. The Parkgate Hotel sets a new bar for accommodation in the city and is a fantastic option for planners wanting to incorporate incentives into their programmes with a variety of activities to be explored within the city centre.”
The Celtic Collection will join ICC Wales and Meet Wales on stand (TMSF270) at The Meetings Show.
