Central London conference and events venue, The QEII Centre, has announced a spike in life sciences event bookings for the next six months, with 13 national and international conferences taking place by the end of March 2025.
Notable events in this sector include the British Society for Heart Failure’s Annual Autumn Meeting, the British Thoracic Society’s Winter Meeting, the UK Biobank’s Winter Scientific Conference, and the Association of Anaesthetists’ Winter Scientific Meeting.
The uptick in life science events at the Westminster-based venue illustrates London’s destination strengths in this sector, aided by its extensive network of world-class universities and research centres, healthcare providers, medical charities, innovative small medium enterprises and significant industry players.
Mark Taylor, Chief Executive, The QEII Centre, said: “Life sciences have long constituted a key pillar of our business here at The QEII Centre, particularly as London is so well served with medical and life science expertise. The next two quarters show particularly strong growth in this sector, helped by the UK government’s strong emphasis on life sciences as a cornerstone for economic growth, and London’s growing innovation hubs, among other factors.
“We are delighted to have been chosen time and again by some of the country’s foremost life science associations, who appreciate our central location, flexible spaces, and tailored services, to help them convene, share knowledge, and continue their valuable work.”
Since 1986, the flexible seven-storey QEII Centre has played host to a huge variety of events, from major international government conferences, to conventions, exhibitions and events for the corporate and association sectors, to dinners, AGMs, award ceremonies and graduations. Situated in a prime location opposite World Heritage Site, Westminster Abbey, the QEII Centre is one of London and the UK’s foremost conference and events centres.
