SUMMER’S NOT OVER JUST YET LONDON’S GREATEST COCKTAIL FESTIVAL SHAKES UP SOME ‘NEWSTALGIA’ FOR SUMMER FINALE

London’s largest garden party Cocktails in the City is back for its last hurrah of the summer, shaking up a new kind of nostalgia. From 5th to 7th September, Bedford Square Garden will become a treasure trove of summertime memories waiting to be unlocked for the cocktail festival’s Newstalgia Edition; bringing our favourite throwback drinks trends into the here and now with clever 2020s twists.

Inspired by the past yet created in the present, guests can rediscover all the playfulness of their favourite early cocktail experiences expertly reimagined by London’s best bartenders using some of the best artisanal spirits and ingredients out there to suit more grown-up palates. Laki Kane Bar Owner Georgi Radev will be reliving his past as long-time bar manager of celebrity haunt cocktail lounge Mahiki as he pops up with the relaunched Mahiki Rum Brand for the first time at Cocktails in the City. Georgi comments; “I have fond memories of my time at Mahiki and it built my career, so I’m delighted to be bringing Laki Kane’s good time vibes to Cocktails in the City with Mahiki Rum this September.”

The September edition also coincides with Zero Waste Week so Mayfair’s Dover Yard destination cocktail bar and lounge will be back with its B-Corp Bar, mixing some all-important sustainable thinking into your drinking using proud B-Corp brands Bruichladdich and The Botanist featuring repurposed gooseberry cordial, lime sour mash and their famous Croissant Falernum, all ingredients created using recycled ingredients from the hotel.

Their neighbourhood Mayfair Bar the Revery will also be showcasing Zero Waste cocktails using a smoked passionfruit and pineapple syrup made from the traditionally discarded elements of the fruit mixed with Absolut Elyx Vodka and topped with Pommery Champagne, chosen after being awarded the double label of “Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne”. As well as this, Sunday Brunch’s Pritesh Moody will be chatting all things zero waste cocktails on the presentation stage which is not to be missed!

For those looking for a more hands-on experience, guests will be able to blend their own bourbon courtesy of Odyssey, the soon to open London specialist Bourbon Bar, enjoy caviar and cocktail pairings with Caviar House and Margot Robbie’s new Papa Salt Gin, Ice carving workshops with Sapporo Beer, the silent disco experience hosted by Vapoura Rum, and roster of live music from The Piano Works and exciting DJs will close out London’s greatest cocktail festival’s summer sessions in true style making it one to remember.

The Newstalgia Edition of Cocktails in the City runs from 5pm-10pm on Thursday 5th August, 4pm-10pm on Friday 6th August, and offers two time slots to choose from (midday-4.15pm, or 5pm-10pm) on Saturday 7th August.
