The organisers of the World Sport & Business Summit 2024 are delighted to unveil the official logo for the prestigious event, set to take place in Birmingham, West Midlands. This unveiling marks a significant milestone in the lead-up to the Summit, where the worlds of sports and business will converge from April 7 to 11 to exchange ideas, reconnect and make new contacts.
The abstract heart has been designed to reflect the values, attributes and accolades of the host city. The logo draws on the region’s location at the heart of the UK; the West Midlands’ pioneering sporting heritage; and the unforgettable spectator experiences shaped in the region time and time again.
The logo’s colourways nod to the West Midlands’ seven metropolitan councils (Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall and Wolverhampton). It additionally pays homage to host city Birmingham by resembling a diamond shape, which alludes to the city’s Jewellery Quarter – famous for making 40% of the UK’s jewellery and metal working. The original FA Cup and the medals and baton for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games were crafted there.
The logo features a bold, modern design which also illustrates the dynamism of the region and its people.
Leader of Birmingham City Council Cllr John Cotton said:
“As a fantastic sporting city with a global reputation for staging unforgettable events, Birmingham is the perfect home for the SportAccord Summit 2024 and we look forward to welcoming delegates from across the world to our city.”
Neil Rami, Chief Executive of the West Midlands Growth Company, said:
“The SportAccord Summit 2024 logo perfectly embodies so many of the West Midlands’ attributes. From our prime position at the epicentre of the UK, to our people power; our cooperative spirit, unwavering dedication, and unbridled enthusiasm – that guarantee the success of every sporting event. It is a privilege to be working in collaboration with the SportAccord team to showcase the best of our diverse region.”
Coming two years after the hugely successful 2022 Commonwealth Games, the World Sport & Business Summit will bring together over 1,500 leaders from sports and business.
As Birmingham prepares to host this global gathering, the logo serves as a visual representation of the city’s commitment to becoming a focal point for international sports and business initiatives.
The World Sport & Business Summit 2024 logo will be featured prominently in all promotional materials, digital platforms, and official communications leading up to and during the event. The organisers encourage attendees, participants, and other stakeholders to engage with the logo on social media using the official hashtag #WSBS2024.
