Sir Chris Bryant MP to open TBOE’s Global Policy Forum

Sir Chris Bryant MP, the Minister of State for Media, Tourism and Creative Industries, will open next week’s Global Policy Forum on behalf of The Business of Events.

The Labour MP for the Welsh constituency of Rhondda and Ogmore will deliver an opening address to the Forum, taking place at IET London: Savoy Place, on 1 April, in his capacity as a Minister for the Department of Culture, Media and Sport.

Sir Chris Bryant MP joins a stellar lineup of politicians, policymakers and senior industry figures who are attending The Business of Events’ Global Policy Forum, sponsored by RX Global.

Designed to unlock the potential and drive growth within the UK’s business events economy, the programme’s speakers and contributors include Shaun Davies MP Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Events; Dame Caroline Dinenage DBE MP Chair of the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee; and columnist and politician Lord Daniel Finkelstein OBE who will be giving delegates his view on the current political and economic landscape.

Seasoned news anchor, reporter and broadcaster Trish Lynch will moderate the Forum, which will feature Senthil Gopinath, Chief Executive of ICCA, discussing the opportunity that business events bring to the UK economy and Neil Brownlee, newly elected Chair of PCMA and Head of Business Events at VisitScotland, on a policy focussed approach to business events.

RX Global UK Managing Director Kerry Prince and Manchester Central CEO Lori Hoinkes will explore the opportunities for the UK exhibition and trade show sector, while some of the UK’s leading business events destinations will contribute to a session moderated by VisitBritain/Meet England’s Paul Black, on the changing role of Convention Bureaux. 

Meanwhile, Mickael Benaim, Head of Research at SFA Connect, will highlight how destinations are adapting to the changing economic and political landscape before the closing keynote address is delivered by Dame Caroline Dinenage DBE MP, Member of Parliament for Gosport and Chair of the Culture Media and Sports Select Committee.
