The Science Museum in South Kensington recently brought together over 100 event agents and press to experience a ‘night at the museum’. The evening was the perfect opportunity to build new connections, whilst showcasing the museum’s event space and capabilities to clients old and new.
Guests enjoyed a welcome cocktail in the museum’s purpose-built event space Illuminate with its panoramic view of the London Skyline before moving into one of the museum’s most popular galleries – Exploring Space – for bites, bowl food and entertainment.
Moving Venue showcased its beautiful seasonal canapé and bowl food menus, which included barley cured salmon with yuzu jam, blackened pork belly with sweetcorn salsa, and monkfish and mussel yellow curry. This was followed by a galaxy themed dessert station to compliment Exploring Space with treats such as dark chocolate ganache with mandarin gel in an almond biscuit sandwich, passionfruit and white chocolate biscuits and tiramisu.
White Light’s production on the night drew on some key features and design elements from the range of events they’ve delivered at the museum. In Illuminate’s Level 5 defined sections were created using the versatile draping to make the networking feel more intimate and the colour themed lighting design included uplighting throughout the room, wash and moving lights for a theatrical atmosphere. In Exploring Space, the exhibits were highlighted throughout the gallery and a colour gel was applied to the central rocket suspended from the ceiling. Uplighting was used around the room and Titan Tubes were placed around the pillars, adding glow and gentle movement to help heighten the aesthetic.
Bryony Mitchison, Event Sales Manager at the Science Museum, says: “It was fantastic to bring together agents and press at the Science Museum for an evening of good food and entertainment. The event was the perfect opportunity to introduce agents to the new members of our events team, as well as showcasing the incredible opportunities for events at the museum.”
