The Science Museum in South Kensington has extended the option to hire the entire museum for a full day on either a Monday or Tuesday, or both, until June 2022.
The museum takeover opportunity means clients can hire multiple spaces across the museum during the daytime, including the revamped IMAX: The Ronson Theatre, dedicated events space Illuminate, and the incredible galleries, which were previously only available for evening hire.
Clients including the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport, Imperial College Business School, Amplience and the Department for International Trade have already taken advantage of the opportunity to host full day or multi-day events at the Science Museum since it was made available in September 2021.
One of the most complex museum takeovers to date, was the DCMS’s two-day Future Tech Forum, which utilised numerous spaces across the museum, including Illuminate for the main plenary, Flight for catering and Wonderlab, Information Age and Level 4 of Illuminate for breakout sessions. The Smith Centre was also used as the ministerial area and for additional meetings.
The opportunity to take over the entire Science Museum has been incredibly well received by clients. Jack Adam, Head of Delivery for the Future Tech Forum, said: “The Science Museum is a fascinating venue in which to hold events, and our event was only made possible by the ability to secure exclusive use of the Museum on a Monday and Tuesday given the type of audience we invited to attend (e.g., Government Ministers) and because it was an invite-only event.”
