As RSA House is going through a period of unexpected closure, they had a significant amount of fresh and frozen produce no longer required and, in time, expiring, for the events business and Rawthmells Coffeehouse. This included a considerable selection of food, such as soups, breads, butter, cheese, fish, meats, veg, cakes, fruits etc.
Last week, RSA House’s General Manager Rupert Outram and Executive Chef Darren Archer drove four car loads of this produce over to the team at The Connection at St Martin-in-the-Fields for them to make use of these items. Laura Pearce, Head of Sales and Marketing at RSA House told us ‘All of us at RSA House are so thrilled this went to such a great organisation doing this vital work at this time‘.
This wonderful organisation helps thousands of people every year to move away from, and stay off, the streets of London. Their current focus is to distribute food working with the Passage Homeless Centre in Victoria to the homeless who have been temporarily housed in hotels around London by the Mayor, but are without any provisions.
Paul Waite, Manager of Facilities and IT at The Connection at St Martin-in-the-Fields says “It really is the most wonderfully useful donation of everything that we need. It is greatly appreciated, we couldn’t have done it without you”.
