RIBA at 66 Portland Place in Central London will host the Off To Work Event Photography Awards on 5th June 2023, as well as sponsoring the Venues category.
Now in its 9th year, this year’s competition saw record levels of entries with the quality and competitiveness higher and tougher than ever before. With entries now closed, the judges have shortlisted entrants across 18 categories that cover the full gamut of the event sector, from Catering and Corporate Events to Venues and Weddings.
On Monday 5th June, up to 250 guests will enjoy a reception event in the Florence Hall, which features floor to ceiling windows, high ceilings and Art Deco details, and leads to an outdoor terrace with recently refreshed living wall and architectural water feature. Guests will then head to the main awards ceremony in the venue’s purpose-built auditorium, the Jarvis Hall, where the 2023 winners will be announced.
Canapés and bowl food will be served throughout the evening by RIBA at 66 Portland Place by Company of Cooks, part of in-house catering partner CH&Co, who hold the royal warrant and are sponsoring the competition’s new Royal Occasions category.
Thomas Morgan, Head of Venues and Events Delivery at RIBA at 66 Portland Place, says: “We’re really looking forward to hosting the Event Photography Awards and showcasing two of our most versatile event spaces: the Florence Hall and the Jarvis Hall and Auditorium. It’s set to be a fantastic evening as we celebrate some incredible photography in the home of architecture.”
Graham Hill, Competition & Event Director, adds: “We are so excited about holding the Event Photography Awards to RIBA. Light floods into The Florence Hall where we will have well over 100 shortlisted shots displayed. It’s outside terrace is also a boon, as is having a separate auditorium for the awards ceremony, which is fun and fast-paced, but best conducted in a formal space with set raked seating.”
