Last weekend, Status Effect, the event production team responsible for Sea of Champions, announced “Phoenix Protocol A Rainbow Six: Siege Charity Show Match” – A one-off invitational esport event aiming to raise funds for The Prince’s Trust.
The Prince’s Trust is a youth charity that supports young people in the UK, aged 11 to 30, into education, employment and training, no matter their background. In the last year, it has supported over 70,000 young people to develop the confidence and skills they need to realise their potential. The courses it runs, both in person and online, give young people the practical and financial support needed to stabilise their lives. (The Prince’s Trust, 2020).
The event itself is hosted by top Rainbow Six: Siege talent, featuring the likes of Jess ‘JessGOAT’ Bolden, Derry ‘Dezachu’ Holt and Ollie ‘Xrtroika’ Hatton, bringing in-depth commentary to high-octane gameplay as two teams featuring notable pro-players battle in a best of five match, showcasing their unrivalled skills for a fantastic cause.
Phoenix Protocol embodies the theme about rising above, releasing your inner ability and rebirth through teamwork, connection, and motivation; brought to life with incredible production value and dazzling cinematic artistry, set to push boundaries within the esports scene. The broadcast will take place on the 23rd November at 6PM GMT, going live on the Status Effect Twitch channel, featuring the Show Match games, more information about the Prince’s Trust, and how you can get involved by donating to the fundraiser to support an incredible initiative.
