MND Association and Hospitality Action Named Charity Partners for Inaugural Belfry Classic Golf Day
07 April 2025: The Belfry Hotel & Resort, in the West Midlands, has announced Hospitality Action and MND Association as the charity partners for its first-ever Belfry Classic Golf Day. The exclusive event will take place on the award-winning resort’s legendary Brabazon golf course, host to the British Masters and the renowned Ryder Cup, more times than any other course in the world.
Helping to ensure those who work tirelessly for others have the funding they need to carry out their vital work, proceeds from the inaugural Belfry Classic Golf Day will go towards two of The Belfry’s life-changing charity partners.
The Belfry has worked with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association since 2023. The charity focuses on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by MND. The Belfry will also continue its long-standing commitment to Hospitality Action, a vital charity that supports hospitality workers in crisis. From financial aid to mental health resources, it serves as a crucial safety net for those in need.
Tanya Curry, Chief Executive of the MND Association said: “We are incredibly grateful to The Belfry Hotel & Resort for arranging this prestigious event, bringing together some of the biggest names in sport for a thrilling day on a truly iconic course.
“For people living with motor neurone disease (MND) and their loved ones, events like these really do mean the world. As well as helping to raise vital funds which will enable us to improve the care and support we offer while investing in ground-breaking research, they also help us to raise awareness of a devastating condition which affects more than 5,000 people in the UK at any one time.
“We hope everyone involved has a fantastic day and on behalf of the whole MND community, thank you.”
Taking place on Thursday May 22, the invite-only Belfry Classic Golf Day will be hosted by esteemed sports presenter and award-winning journalist and broadcaster, Dan Walker, who commented: “Golf has a great community around it and there is always a huge appetite to get together on days like this and raise money for some great causes.”
Celebrities from the world of sport, including football, cricket, horseracing, rugby and athletics, as well as those from music and TV, will come together to play in a thrilling four-ball formation on The Brabazon.
Mark Lewis, Chief Executive of Hospitality Action commented: “These are tough times for people working in the hospitality industry. And in tough times, we rely more than ever on the wonderful people and businesses that raise funds in support of our work. Thanks to the help of our friends at The Belfry, we’ll be able to transform the lives of many more hospitality families at crisis point.”
The inaugural Belfry Classic Golf Day promises a day filled with indulgence, featuring an all-day BBQ, live entertainment, multiple drinks receptions, a lavish gala dinner, a thrilling live auction with surprise lots, and an unforgettable after-party.
