Launching this summer, the famous crazy golf brand unveils details of its seventh venue in the vibrant heart of Camden, London
Junkyard Golf Club, the renowned crazy golf brand, has announced details of the grand opening of its highly anticipated seventh venue in London, located in the vibrant district of Camden. With a significant investment of £2 million, the new Camden location marks a major milestone in Junkyard Golf Club’s expansion plans and reaffirms its commitment to delivering exceptional experiences to its guests.
Situated at the former Shaka Zulu restaurant in the heart of Camden Market (The Stables Market, Chalk Farm Rd, London NW1 8AB), the new venue boasts a massive 19,500 square feet, making it the largest Junkyard Golf Club venue to date. The substantial refurbishment has transformed the space into a captivating and immersive environment, perfectly aligned with the brand’s unique crazy golf theme.
Junkyard Golf Club has always strived to push the boundaries of entertainment, and the Camden launch promises to take the experiential element to new heights. The company aims to provide a world-class experience for its guests by combining the thrill of mini golf with imaginative and quirky design concepts.
Sam Jones, Managing Director of Junkyard Golf Club comments; “We are thrilled to be opening our seventh venue for Junkyard Golf Club in the amazing location of Camden, right beside the iconic bridge in one of London’s cultural hotspots.
Camden will house our largest venue to date, allowing us to provide a unique and unforgettable experience for everyone who visits. We can’t wait to bring our brand of crazy golf to this culturally rich and diverse area of London, that sees over 100,000 visitors each weekend.”
As well as creating an unforgettable golfing adventure, the new Junkyard Golf Club venue in Camden will generate significant economic benefits for the local community. The establishment of this venue will create 100 new jobs within hospitality, providing employment opportunities and contributing to the growth of the area.
The Camden location promises endless excitement for visitors, featuring four thrilling 9-hole courses, each with its unique theme. Course Pablo, a Tropical Terror, will test players’ skills with Mexican wrestling bears, pirate speedboats, and glitter temples. Course Gary takes golfers on a journey down memory lane, surrounded by disco balls and Gary’s scrap metal, complete with a UV disco room for a truly groovy experience. Course Bozo, the creepiest course on earth, challenges players to confront their fears amidst circus freaks and fairground creeps, featuring attractions like the Ferris Wheel and Hall of Mirrors. Course Dirk is a techno nightmare, where putters will be dared to sit in its acid electric chair, within an abandoned warehouse, transformed by strobe lighting and hazy vibes.
The new venue will also offer a dedicated corporate space with a bar, ideal for businesses seeking an immersive setting for Christmas parties, team-building activities, or team-bonding experiences. Additionally, a full floor within the venue will be devoted to a bar area inside, introducing a new cocktail menu that is sure to impress guests.
The Camden venue will also be the first venue to open under the new rebrand that Junkyard Golf Club underwent last spring. They created a fresh identity and strategy as part of their drive to evolve the brand from pop-up to grown-up, to deliver an even more exceptional guest-centric experience across its existing and new sites in the UK (United Kingdom).
Keeping their bold and playful attitude at the heart and soul of the brand, their courses and venue at Camden will have a new concrete and industrial vibe that will appear slick, whilst introducing neon flecks and stencilled paint for graphics.
The venue will also be Junkyard Golf Club’s first site to be built under their commitment to being Carbon Neutral. At the start of the year, Junkyard Golf Club earned their Certified Carbon Neutral status, reducing its carbon footprint across all sites and setting a goal to become a zero-waste-to-landfill brand by 2024. The Camden site will take centre stage when it comes to reducing the brand’s carbon footprint and pave the way for all future openings of sites, helping to build a greener industry.
Junkyard Golf Club has become a go-to destination across the country, with venues in Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Newcastle, Oxford, and Shoreditch.
The new Junkyard Golf Club Camden venue is set to open in August 2023.
