ICC Wales will launch an updated version of its report, ‘The Great Outdoors’, at this week’s The Meetings Show 2021, focussing on the benefits of incorporating nature into events as part of the new delegate experience.
The report explores how integrating the outdoors and nature into events can play a vital role in boosting wellbeing, creativity and productivity, as well as bringing attention to sustainability in the lead up to COP26.
The new report will be presented at The Meetings Show 2021 at ExCeL London on Thursday 30th September. Danielle Bounds, Sales Director at ICC Wales, will lead participants through the new landscape of business events and provide guidance on how event planners can think green to solve their event planning challenges.
The revised Great Outdoors report investigates how spending time in nature became even more valuable during the Covid-19 pandemic and offers practical tips to help event planners incorporate nature into their events.
Wales is a country synonymous with dramatic landscapes, green spaces and stunning coastline, and ICC Wales benefits from being flanked by ancient woodland on the outskirts of Newport, South Wales.
As well as views onto the woods from inside the venue, the woodland offers an opportunity to integrate an experience in nature for meeting and conference attendees. ICC Wales benefits from outdoor meeting spaces, running and walking trails, tree planting and gardening programmes. All of this will give event planners great flexibility in terms of where they hold their events.
Danielle Bounds said: “I’m sure many people, like me, took full advantage of exploring their local areas throughout the various lockdown restrictions and found a new appreciation for nature. The pandemic has accelerated an interest in health and wellbeing in the events industry as well as society in general.
“People are more appreciative of the amazing benefits of spending time outside in nature, for a whole host of reasons including increased creativity, productivity and better mental health. We are so lucky at ICC Wales to be immersed in the beautiful Coldra Woods, as well as being on the doorstep of some truly breathtaking natural environments across Wales. It’s time we started taking events outside, or bringing the outside into our events, where possible, to reap a whole host of rewards.”
The presentation ‘The Great Outdoors – the benefits of bringing nature into events in today’s world’ will take place at The Meetings Show on Thursday 30th September at 12:10pm on The Greenwich Stage. ‘The Great Outdoors’ report will be available to download during the event.
ICC Wales is exhibiting alongside The Celtic Collection and Meet Wales on Stand TMSF270 at The Meetings Show.
