The Museum of London has developed a variety of hybrid and live streaming packages that can be managed in-house to aid organisers managing events where delegates were unable to attend in person. These packages have been received incredibly well and the museum recently hosted its first hybrid event, with more in the pipeline.
Survitec, a global leader in survival and safety solutions, was looking for a venue in order to present a business update to its banks and lenders. The Museum of London was chosen as it was close to Survitec’s headquarters, as well as being easily accessible via transport links and ideal for their hybrid requirements.
Due to Covid restrictions on delegate numbers, Survitec worked with the museum to stream the event to additional attendees remotely, with 14 guests, including speakers, onsite. Using the Weston Theatre, the museum team set up the stage including two separate lecterns for the speakers to allow for social distancing, individual microphones and cameras for streaming.
The theatre can hold 50 guests in the front section of tiered seating, so all 14 guests were able to safely distance in this space. This also allowed the cameras to be set up in the central area with 3 viewpoints: full stage, left lectern and right lectern. The output was controlled by the AV technicians in the booth (with PPE on) with seamless video switching depending on which view was best at the precise moment of the talk. The technicians controlled the camera output, mic audio, screen content, and content being streamed out to ensure a seamless event.
Guests responded well to the museum’s Covid compliant procedures, including social distancing, the wearing of face masks, and the enhanced cleaning routine, with the client commenting that “the service was excellent, and we could not fault the team in any way.”
