GES EMEA announces its plans for Net Zero 2050 with ambitious sustainability roadmap

GES EMEA has published its Roadmap to Net Zero, unveiling its clear pathway to achieving Net Zero by 2050. As well as looking forward, the report highlights the progress the business has made and the initiatives it has implemented, such as removing emissions-intensive materials from its portfolio and replacing them with sustainable alternatives.

“We are extremely proud of our Net Zero 2050 commitment and the immense amount of passion and dedication it has taken us to get to this point. Due to the complexities of our business, we understand how ambitious our plans are but we’re confident that by collaborating with our partners and working in tandem our plans are more than achievable,” said Jason Stead, President – GES EMEA Exhibitions.

“We’re delighted to be able to share our ambitious plan, while also acknowledging just how far we have come, too. During the past 12 months alone, GES has been awarded the ISO:20121:2024 by BSI and the ESSA Sustainability Accredited Tier 5 certification, in addition to publishing our first Progress Report relating to our work in the field of ESG. Our roadmap is another significant step forward in our journey and provides a clear sustainability framework for our business,” said Kate Holliday, Head of ESG – GES EMEA.

As an early adopter of the Net Zero Carbon Events Pledge, the report helps to cement GES’ commitment to leading the way in the field of event sustainability. Its team is focused on working alongside partners to conserve natural resources, prevent pollution, and continuously improve environmental performance, all while respecting the ecosystems the business impacts.

“Our focus on sustainability is key to our ethos and has the full support of the business leadership. We recognise how essential sustainable practices are for modern businesses and the importance of minimising our impact on the world” added Jason.
