Women lead the way at The Belfry Hotel & Resort, in the Midlands, with four of its senior leadership team recognised with prestigious award wins which span departments across the resort. Demonstrating the fundamental importance of female leaders in the hospitality industry, each of the women were celebrated for their profound impact on their sectors.
Emma Catterall, Finance Director at The Belfry, has taken home the Inspirational Finance Leader of the Year Award at the illustrious HOSPA Awards 2024. Celebrated for her outstanding leadership and significant impact, the award sets the benchmark for excellence and recognises Emma’s ability to navigate complex financial challenges with integrity and foresight, drive sustainable growth, inspire her peers, and contribute to the overall success and resilience of her organisation.
Addressing her win, Emma said: “What a delight it is to have won this award, and to stand alongside so many brilliant peers in the finance sector and wider hospitality industry. Kirsten Price, The Belfry’s People Director, has been crowned People Manager of the Year at the renowned Hotel Cateys 2024. Acknowledging those at the very top of their game who work tirelessly to make sure their businesses deliver an unparalleled guest experience, judges praised the strong people-centric culture Kirsten has created and her ability to inspire those around her to deliver exceptional results.
Commenting on her win, Kirsten said: “I am overjoyed to have been named People Manager of the Year. Rekha Lyons, The Belfry’s Head of Event Sales, has been named winner of the Individual Award at the industry-leading miaList Awards 2024. Celebrating phenomenal teams and individuals shaping the meetings and events industry, Rekha was acknowledged for her strong leadership and remarkable expertise. This includes helping The Belfry secure £80+million worth of investment for its bold expansion project, with the construction of a flagship new events space, The Masters Suite, and the building of a state-of-the-art Leisure Club already underway.
Anna Nilsson, Deputy Head Greenkeeper of the Brabazon Golf Course at The Belfry, has been recognised with the Women in Turfcare Award at the Women in Golf Awards 2024. As the first woman to manage such a legendary championship course, the award pays tribute to Anna’s unwavering dedication, expertise and passion, as well as her efforts to inspire both women and future generations to engage with golf.
