Leading London conference and events venue The QEII Centre has scooped gold in the ‘Large Venue’ and ‘Sustainable Venue’ categories at the Eventex Awards 2024.
The global awards, which celebrate creativity, innovation, and effectiveness in the world of events and experiential marketing, recognised the significant practical efforts The QEII Centre has taken on its journey to net zero, which sees the venue focus on four areas with the biggest environmental impact: waste and recycling, energy and emissions, ecology, and transport.
The award also recognised the adaptability and versatility of the Westminster-based venue, the quality of the client and guest experience, and the world-class facilities of the venue, which hosts around 400 national and international events each year.
Commenting on the venue’s Best Large Venue win, judge Annie Kristi Korsmo, Director of Sales, Nordic Hotels & Resorts, said: “This is really a unique venue, and I loved the focus on storytelling. I really liked the showcase on how to reduce food waste through the pantry which showed great results!”
James Morgan, Founder, James Morgan Associates, said: “The entry demonstrates the innovations, quality of catering and client and guest experience in detail. The achievements and results demonstrate exemplary business performance post-Covid.”
Mark Taylor, Chief Executive, The QEII Centre, said: “I am absolutely delighted with our two gold awards at the prestigious Eventex Awards. This achievement means a lot to us, especially because we were up against tough competition from our formidable international counterparts. We have demonstrated strong business growth since Covid, while maintaining our steadfast commitment to environmental standards, exemplary customer service and delivering a quality experience.
“We have a talented, creative and dedicated team and we love what we do. I am incredibly proud of the entire team and all the hard work that has gone into making this award win possible.”
