The Design Museum has grown its talented commercial hire and events team in response to an increasing number of event bookings, and the recent announcement that the museum is available for daytime, exclusive use.
The all-female team has grown by 40% since the start of the year, with the two newest recruits – Meriel Clarke and Lauren Mair – joining as Commercial Hire & Events Assistant and Commercial Hire & Events Manager respectively. Meriel and Lauren will support the existing team which includes Alicia Anderson, Rachel Orphan, Alex Burns and Rosie Walker. The team is led by Livia Puggini, Head of Commercial Hire & Events, who has championed and showcased the Design Museum as a standout setting for events for the last 6 years.
The team is passionate about creating memorable event experiences at the world’s leading museum dedicated to contemporary design. A long-term ambition to offer exclusive hire of the museum was recently realised with the team now able to really maximise the venue’s potential to host full-scale brand activations, experiential events.
No stranger to organising events, activations, and exhibitions in partnership with well-known individuals and brands, the team has worked with clients including Swarovski, Fred Perry, the Oak Collection, Van Cleef & Arpels, Cartier, Jaguar Land Rover and many more.
Livia Puggini, Head of Commercial Hire & Events at the Design Museum, says: “It is a privilege to lead a team that is so passionate about the Design Museum and regularly deliver standout experiences and brand activations. We’ve expanded the team in recent months to ensure we can continue to deliver memorable and successful events as demand for the museum grows.
“The opportunity to exclusively hire the entire museum means we are attracting clients with big ideas and activations and the team are relishing the chance to work on more complex and creative installs and event experiences. I’m looking forward to a busy but exciting autumn with this fantastic team!”
