Design Museum appoints New Business Manager to join its Commercial Hire & Events team

James Davies has joined the Design Museum’s Commercial Hire & Events team as New Business Manager. James will join the 7-strong team and will play an important role in expanding the museum’s reach, securing new business opportunities, and continuing to develop and innovate the venue hire proposition for corporate and private clients.

With a background in venue management and marketing and a sound knowledge of the events sector, James has a proven track record in developing innovative corporate and commercial propositions in his previous roles as Sales & Events Coordinator at Bishopsgate Institute and Events Officer at the Wallace Collection.

James’s experience will complement that of the existing team, as they collectively aim to push the boundaries with innovative event solutions and partnerships across exclusive hire opportunities, filming, exhibitions, and brand activations.

The Design Museum regularly hosts standout events, activations, and exhibitions in partnership with well-known individuals and brands, including Swarovski, Fred Perry, the Oak Collection, Van Cleef & Arpels, Intuit Mailchimp, Cartier, Jaguar Land Rover and many more.

As part of his role, James will work alongside Robin Wallace, Senior New Business Manager, Sophy Merrick, Head of Corporate Development and Livia Puggini, Head of Commercial Hire & Events, to develop even more innovative partnerships for the museum.

The Commercial Hire & Events team at the Design Museum manages a diverse range of activity, including brand activations, conferences, award ceremonies, dinners, drinks receptions, filming, commercial displays, and weddings.
