Convene Expands UK In-House AV Team  to Support Tech Needs Across its London Locations

Convene, a global lifestyle hospitality company that designs and manages premium meeting, event, and flexible workspaces, today announced the expansion of its UK in-house AV team to support locations across London.  

The company has added a Global Director of AV Sales, UK Head of AV Operations, two UK AV Sales Managers, and a Technology Manager and AV Operations Specialist per venue to support bringing the management of event AV services in-house at the following locations: Convene 133 Houndsditch; Convene 155 Bishopsgate, Liverpool Street; Convene 200 Aldersgate, St. Paul’s; and etc.venues County Hall.  

The in-house AV team at Convene supports all audio, visual, and technology needs for meetings and events of all types and sizes including the provision of equipment serviced by a dedicated technician; livestreaming, recording, or hybrid event production; lighting design; visual branding opportunities and scenic enhancements; and more.  The team comprises:

  • Global Director of AV Sales – Sean Comber has been promoted to this role having previously served as Senior Sales Executive of AV Solutions and Regional AV Manager.  The Global Director of AV Sales is responsible for overseeing a team of four that advise clients on technology needs for their events and manage the corresponding sales process across the entire Convene network.
  • UK Head of AV Operations – Mark Barry has been promoted to this role having previously served as Senior AV Sales Manager and AV Production Manager.  The UK Head of AV Operations is responsible for overseeing  an in-house team of 20 across six of the portfolio’s venues that provide clients with a seamless, end-to-end AV production experience, and an external AV partner serving etc.venues by Convene locations.
  • UK AV Sales Managers – Adrian Walker and Dennis Poku have joined the company in this role.  UK AV Sales Managers are responsible for advising clients on technology needs for events held at the aforementioned London venues within the Convene portfolio, presenting tailored AV solutions that meet the program goals and objectives.
  • Technology Managers – Each Convene venue has a dedicated Technology Manager responsible for client relations surrounding the execution of each event’s AV production needs.
  • AV Operations Specialists – Each Convene venue has a dedicated Senior or AV Operations Specialist responsible for the service delivery of each event’s technology needs, ranging from desktop support, audio, video, internet access and networking, video conferencing, webcasting, lighting design, and more.

Expanding the UK in-house AV team at Convene enables the company to provide a consistent client experience across its global portfolio of large event venues.  London’s Convene 22 Bishopsgate and Convene Sancroft, St. Paul’s have been providing clients with in-house AV services since opening in Spring 2022 and Spring 2024 respectively; all U.S. locations also provide AV solutions in-house.
