Pride of Britain Hotels is delighted to announce that newly-refurbished Haycock Manor Hotel, in Cambridgeshire, which opens its doors on Tuesday 22nd June after extensive renovations, will be joining Pride of Britain Hotels from 1st September 2021.
Set on the River Nene in the idyllic medieval village of Wansford, Cambridgeshire, Haycock Manor Hotel dates back to 1571 and is steeped in history, with previous guests including Mary Queen of Scots and Queen Victoria and, in more recent times, Princess Diana, Freddie Mercury and Tom Cruise.
On 22nd June, 49 bedrooms and suites will be unveiled alongside two restaurants, a bar and lounge, plus a gym. The second phase, to be completed in August, will feature a cookery school and farm shop, with a luxury spa and riverside glamping opening in early 2022.
The hotel will boast two restaurants serving high-quality local ingredients: the Prévost Restaurant for fine dining – housed in a bright and contemporary orangery, under the expert guidance of Executive Chef Lee Clarke and Sous Chef Sam Nash – and Haycock Kitchen, a relaxed dining space with an outdoor terrace serving brasserie-style dishes, located in the hotel’s historic inn. Afternoon tea will be served daily and a cocktail menu will feature signature tipples, including a White Truffle Pisco Sour.
Hotel activities available will include a fitness suite with the latest cardio equipment, yoga mats in the bedrooms, electric and push bikes, plus canoes and paddleboards for guests’ use.
Nearby, guests will enjoy exploring the pretty market town of Stamford, once a major wool town, which boasts magnificent Burghley House, dating back to Elizabethan times. Rockingham Castle, Rutland Water and Peterborough Cathedral are also near at hand.
