Big, bold and unapologetically itself; DRUMSHEDS entered the game back in October, and turned London’s cultural landscape on its head. Welcoming over 150,000 guests, hundreds of artists, countless live acts, dancers and performers through its doors, the opening of the 15,000 capacity, 608,000sqft space has been one of London’s most important cultural moments of recent years.
Broadwick’s vision for DRUMSHEDS was always to build a brand new centre of cultural gravity; an experience-first space for guests to immerse themselves sonically and visually, and they certainly lived up to the hype. Now, Broadwick Live can reveal the next set of event partners and headliners who’ll be a part of the SS24 season, featuring long-term Broadwick Live affiliates such as Worried About Henry, The Hydra and Drumcode , plus fresh faces being welcomed into the fold including Craig David’s TS5. DRUMSHEDS’ second season of programming is designed to inspire, connect and create unparalleled impact through music, culture and space.
The second music season will open with a sold out show from Chase and Status on February 23rd 2024, and close out on 27th April 2024. General sale tickets will be available from the 7th, to buy from drumshedslondon.com.
Once again representing a broad spectrum of sounds, DRUMSHEDS’ SS24 billing will be an audio exploration spanning sonics from DnB to techno, house to hip-hop. A major start to the season for all the DnB heads, Chase and Status’ will host the opening fiesta on the 23rd February. Known as innovators and trailblazers, this legendary duo have their roots in the rave scene, but their evolution has seen them consistently reinvent and regenerate as artists.
For all fans of DNB, jungle, bass and beyond, long-term Broadwick Live collaborators Worried About Henry return on 16th March with a stacked bill headed up by Wilkinson. Anyone who has experienced a Worried About Henry rave knows it is high-energy, soundtracked by the heaviest artists from the movement with some special guests. The last show at DRUMSHEDS saw Turno bring out JME, Dizzee Rascal, Double E and more for a set that celebrated MCs in the DnB scene.
A new addition on the bill is Craig David’s TS5 Festival which promises to bring some of the finest names in garage, house, hip-hop and more through the doors, all hosted by the man himself. After launching as part of the first season with Sugababes, SHYGIRL and more, the much-hyped False Idols – bringing with it a fabulous array of DJs, dancers, live acts and more to be announced. Known for championing the alternative, The Hydra also returns to DRUMSHEDS with Bonobo’s ‘Outlier.’ A long-term member of The Hydra’s network, Bonobo will take guests on a sonic journey accompanied by DJs, live acts and more from the underground world.
Techno will play a key part in the 2024 sessions, and DRUMSHEDS’ industrial space will provide an ideal backdrop for the genre. On March 9th, Adam Beyer brings his Drumcode imprint to DRUMSHEDS for what will be a heavy-hitting techno party. Since 1996, the Swedish label has become one of the most influential names in the techno world. Later in March, Amelie Lens makes her DRUMSHEDS debut for EXHALE London, plus Radio 1 Dance with a takeover of DRUMSHEDS’ 3 rooms. James Hype and Meduza close out the second line of shows with their OUR HOUSE esteemed party series.
There’ll be plenty more events, partners, artists incoming across the second music season, continuing in the Broadwick Live mission to deliver experience-led music shows on a scale like no other.
“We’ve been pleasantly taken aback by the overwhelming support from our core audience around the new venue, so we’re hoping to continue that momentum with a different set of partners and parties for the SS24 season…” – Ajay Jarayam, Director Of Music, Broadwick Live
