Exciting new packages available for events
The Design Museum’s major new exhibition on the history of Barbie, in partnership with Mattel Inc., will open in July with exciting event packages created in collaboration with By Word of Mouth and Fisher Productions.
Three years in the making and opening to coincide with the 65th anniversary of the Barbie brand this year, the exhibition will explore the design evolution of one of the world’s most famous dolls.
Exclusive viewings of this exciting new exhibition will be available for corporate and private events with caterers By Word of Mouth, event production house Fisher Productions, florists Lavender Green and entertainment supplier Euphonica on hand to bring some Barbie magic to events hosted between July 2024 and February 2025.
By Word of Mouth have created menus that fully convey the bright personality, vibrant colours and strong aesthetic that has made the Barbie brand so iconic. A ‘Kenape’ menu, tasting plates and sit-down dinner options are available to suit every event with a focus on elegance, creativity and seasonal ingredients.
London based event production house, Fisher Productions will help immerse guests in Barbie nostalgia with vibrant bespoke lighting, sound and design elements that reflect Barbie’s iconic history and cultural impact. Additional production elements include a gobo projected on the ceiling with the Barbie ‘B’ or company logo and a custom 4m semi-circular bar wrapped in a Barbie or custom design with lighting.
To further enhance the Barbie experience, clients can include a design experts tour of Barbie with exclusive behind the scenes information on the blockbuster show, floral arrangements inspired by the exhibition, entertainment from Euphonica and Barbie gifts and merchandise from the Design Museum shop.
Livia Puggini, Head of Commercial Hire & Events, comments: “We are counting down the weeks until Barbie makes her appearance at the Design Museum and are really excited to host some playful events throughout the summer and beyond. We know this exhibition is going to be incredibly popular and in partnership with By Word of Mouth and Fisher Productions we’ve designed themed packages so you can invite guests into your own DreamHouse whilst being able to enjoy exclusive access to the exhibition itself.”
As part of the partnership with Mattel Inc., the Design Museum has been granted exclusive access to extensive Barbie archives in California and dozens of rare and unique items will go on show, alongside other key loans and acquisitions to tell the story of the iconic brand over the past six-and-a-half decades.
