EventWell Unveils Bold Plans for 2025: Launching the EventWell Manifesto and SensorySafe Accreditation Scheme

EventWell, the UK’s leading neurodivergent-led not-for-profit championing neuroinclusion and wellbeing in the events industry, is thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of the EventWell Manifesto and the groundbreaking SensorySafe Accreditation Scheme in 2025.

These initiatives are set to transform the landscape of UK events, conferences, exhibitions, and festivals by setting new standards for accessibility and inclusion.

A Manifesto for Change

The EventWell Manifesto will serve as a cornerstone for promoting neuroinclusive practices across the events industry. Guided by the organisation’s ethos of empathy, understanding, and proactive support, the manifesto will outline clear, actionable commitments for event organisers to create safe, welcoming, and inclusive environments for neurodivergent attendees.

Drawing from years of research and insights, including findings that 85% of neurodivergent attendees have avoided events due to overwhelm and that 88% feel event organisers lack understanding of their needs, the manifesto aims to challenge these barriers head-on.

SensorySafe Accreditation: Raising the Bar

The SensorySafe Accreditation Scheme will empower organisers to showcase their commitment to neuroinclusion by meeting rigorous standards tailored to the needs of neurodivergent attendees. This pioneering accreditation will assess and certify events based on criteria such as:

  • Quiet and Sensory Spaces: Providing supervised, well-equipped rooms for relaxation and regulation.
  • Inclusive Design: Addressing the key overwhelm triggers of crowds, noise, and navigation.
  • Training and Support: Ensuring staff are equipped with mental health first aid training and awareness of neuroinclusive practices.

With over three years of expertise placing quiet rooms and sensory spaces into events and delivering tailored wellbeing services, EventWell is uniquely positioned to lead this industry shift.

Why Now?

“There has never been a more crucial time for our industry to embrace meaningful change,” says Helen Moon, Founder and CEO of EventWell. “By launching the EventWell Manifesto and SensorySafe Accreditation Scheme, we aim to inspire a cultural shift, ensuring that events are not just accessible but actively welcoming for not just neurodivergent individuals, but all.”

A Call to Action

The EventWell Manifesto and SensorySafe Accreditation Scheme will officially launch in 2025, with a series of workshops, training sessions, and events to prepare organisers for the transition. EventWell invites all stakeholders in the UK events industry to join this movement toward a more inclusive and equitable future.
