The Science Museum in South Kensington hosted Imperial College Business School’s Student Welcome Day yesterday, which was the first event to take over the museum since exclusive hire was announced earlier this summer.
Returning to the Science Museum for a second time, Imperial College Business School had approximately 2,000 guests at the venue and utilised event spaces including the Energy Hall, IMAX: The Ronson Theatre, Illuminate and Wonderlab: The Equinor Gallery.
Guests attending the Welcome Day headed into the Energy Hall for registration and to meet internal Imperial exhibitors before moving into the IMAX for a welcome talk and keynote speech. Catering was provided on Level 5 of Illuminate with food stations, poseur tables and seating for networking set against the panoramic backdrop of the London skyline.
Wonderlab offered guests the perfect breakout setting as they watched live demonstrations from the museum’s team of Explainers, as well as getting hands-on with the different interactive zones including giant slides, lighting demos and a giant orrery.
Julia McShane, Director, Student Life, comments: “We are extremely excited to be returning to host our Welcome day at the Science Museum. Exclusive hire or a world-renowned museum is enabling us to provide our students with a unique and memorable start to their time with us at Imperial College Business School.”
Bryony Mitchison, Group Sales Manager at the Science Museum, adds: “We’re thrilled to welcome Imperial College Business School to the museum as our first exclusive hire of 2023. We’ve worked with the Imperial team before and are looking forward to another successful event as their students enjoy an exclusive experience at the museum. We’ve had such a positive reaction to the announcement that exclusive hire is available on selected dates throughout the year and have lots more exciting events in the pipeline already!”
