As part of the latest proposals for RIBA’s House of Architecture modernisation programme, which includes a transformation of the Grade II* listed home of RIBA, 66 Portland Place will close from June 2025. Refurbishment of the building is anticipated to take approximately two and a half years.
This sensitive restoration of 66 Portland Place will ensure the London landmark building is accessible, environmentally sustainable, and remains a vibrant, welcoming destination for members, clients and delegates alike for years to come.
The Art Deco building in Marylebone remains open for event bookings until 1st June 2025 and the team have a pipeline of exciting events that they will be delivering over the coming months for clients including social enterprise Well Grounded and Truth Tellers.
Thomas Morgan, Head of Venues and Events Delivery at 66 Portland Place, says: “House of Architecture is a significant modernisation programme which represents the future of RIBA and its headquarters at 66 Portland Place. The restoration will ensure we continue to offer the finest facilities in London for high profile meetings and events for years to come.
“We’ve got a great pipeline of events over the coming months and we’re hoping to make the next 6 months our busiest yet as clients take up the opportunity of hosting a standout event at our historic London landmark before it closes at the end of May.”
